India Republic Day

The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy joins the Indian Nation and the rest of the World in commemorating the 68th Anniversary of India’s Republic Day held at Monomotapa Hotel on 26 January 2017 . It was attended by Diplomatic Missions, Co-operate Bodies, Indian Nationals, Zimbabwean Government Officials and Ordinary Zimbabwean Citizens.

In his Commemoration speech, Ambassador Rungsung Masakui said that “We waited till 26 January 1950 and on this day, 68 years ago, the people of India gave to themselves a constitution to secure for all its citizens, justice, liberty and gender and economic equality. On that day, we became the largest democracy in the World.”

Ambassador Rungsung Masakui stated that India and Zimbabwe enjoy excellent relation.

The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy values India because of Mahatma Gandhi’s immense contribution to Diplomacy through the principle of peaceful non cooperation and peaceful resistance. Mahatma Gandhi was of the idea that world peace can only be achieved through non violence. We think of India when celebrating liberty, fraternity and equality in the World today.

India remains a cornerstone of negotiation and peaceful engagement.
Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy wishes the Republic of India and its people peace &  prosperity.
